morning mist--
an echo from the other side
of the forest lake

About the author: My name is JÖRGEN JOHANSSON, living in Lidköping, Sweden, and I'm a member of the on-line CHERRY POETRY CLUB. I wrote my first haiku in April, 2001, and started, of course, to write in my native language, publishing a couple of haiku "pamphlets" on my own RIVER MAN publ. co. In March of 2003 I wrote my first haiku in English, and haven't looked back since; i now write DIRECTLY into English.
first light
lakeside song
of a dreamer
embracing the woods
with silent creatures about--
full moon lights my path
Leafing overnight
the trees on the other bank-
first treefrogs' song
leaving the emergency room
driving in dense fog
...echos of doctor's diagnosis
pollywog pond
beyond Oterkirk's farm
l-i-s-t-e-n---spring peepers
Dawn
curtains drawn back ...
morning ms
outdoor evening opera
... frogs crooning
on stage of lily pads
last evening ferry
Martha's song still on my mind

"Morning mist" is a true gift, Jorgen. The concrete level reads beautifully and then - for those wishing to wander farther - it opens almost mythically to tens of lovely 'beyonds' one can fill in from personal experiece. Thank you, Nancy
