nothing moves
but stars

This is really lovely, Jason. One of my favorites.

    winter silence
    a star falls
    from the sky

    starry walk
    'longside the pond
    quieter than usual--
    'cept basho's frog

    Dark the night
    beside the bay
    longing for
    the shooting star

    a winter night's draft
    wrests the candle's flame

Great haiku! I've known the feeling, especially under a vast Queensland nightsky!

    "nothing moves
    but a falling star"

    "nothing moves
    but falling stars"

as far as i can recall, unless i was
under the influence of something that made everything move, the stars appeared stationary to the naked eye, unless of course one was falling.

    what passes for poetry today
    is a curious matter, especially
to one who's come back from
    the dead.
