The tongue-in-cheek humour removes this from being saccharine in my opinion. It brought a smile to my face after an already long day! ;-)

    Great!

It takes a UK tradition (afternoon tea) and creates a haiku with universal appeal.

    a bear with a sweet tooth . . . I love it !
After the 2nd world war, you would not have dared to take more than one small teaspoon of sugar. When I was there in '49, sugar was scarce and still on ration.

I haven't seen a pineapple or a mango for days.

Wonderfully nostalgic poem. It reminds me of my favorite stuffed animal.
