Welcome to tinywords 14.1

Now, we arrive at the doorstep of another spring.

Another issue of tinywords: # 14.1 which translates to the first issue of its fourteenth year in existence. Always back to the beginning. Just like a writer. Not a bad motto actually: Back to the beginning. Good advice for any poet facing the blank page. Explore.

We thank all those who did just that and added their poems in response to the writing prompt photograph of the house hidden in a redwood forest. We encourage you to scroll through the more than one hundred various and engaging responses. However, the editorial team here at tinywords has concluded that the following four poems are equal in their stature as “winners” of this issue’s writing prompt. Congratulations to Isak Kempe, Deborah P. Kolodji, Marie Louise Munro and Dru Philippou.

Thanks also to the family of Cindy Zackowitz for allowing tinywords to use her bright and hopeful leaf photo as the backdrop for this issue, as well as a forthcoming haiga of Cindy’s. A skilled poet and photographer, Cindy’s untimely death in 2012 saddened all who knew her. And many of those who only knew her through numerous published poems.

Our great thanks also to our assistant editors: Ruth Holzer, John Emil Vincent, and Dave Serjeant for their thoughtful reading. And, of course, to tinywords founding editor, publisher, technical wizard and micropoetry pioneer, Dylan Tweney. Most importantly thanks again to all of you who read, respond and submit to tinywords. We couldn?t do this without you.

So, let us begin.?One ? word ??at ? a ? ? time,
