late autumn the crickets’ knees unhinged
—Melissa Watkins Starr
Issue 15.1 | 1 May 2015
Stunning, unhinging, in fact, especially for someone with knee replacements.
Thanks, I hadn't thought of it from that perspective.
This is an outstanding haiku! Speaks to me on a very very deep level.
Melissa, you know exactly… where the crickets' night calls are generated; nicely versed here. _m
Thank you!
Good job Melissa I can hear them !
Thanks, Michaelle!

. . . yes, with knee replacements
or beyond them, wishing for that option.
in late autumn . . .
deeply touching
a haiku with the weep of truth
Thank you, Frances.
So proud of you, my friend!
Thanks, Leesa!
This one made me smile! Not sure that this is what you intended, Melissa, but I loved it :)

Fascinating haiku and fascinating fact about crickets:
"Crickets have tympanic membranes located just below the middle joint of each front leg (or knee). This enables them to hear another cricket's song."
warm regards,
Alan
love the image of the crickets knees being unhinged – excellent!
An insignificant observation opens a wide view – very good!
