Kids don't worry about what's sensible or appropriate attire for a particular season. If they think the scarecrow should wear a tutu and it's autumn, so bit it!
I guess this could also be read as a statement about gender expectation. A fine haiku.

Brad, this is lovely. It's about fall, though, right? Scarecrow, tutu…. all makes me think of the beginning of a new school year in the fall.
