even without the wind
the chill

ellis clay, gypsykid at gmail dot com I've been writing and studying haiku since 1992. I've self-produced a few of my own collections of haiku, most recently 'ku' in 2000, and 'nine haiku: winterness' this past winter. I am currently working on a collection of one-line haiku to be completed by this summer.

  1. winter winds howl
    hands embracing –
    potbellied stove

    dirty date
    unbreakable …
    dance with the worms *

    one’s life
    in a pine condo –
    mortality *

    wintry morn
    creaky floor –
    early riser

  2. looking forward to reading your one-line
haiku. i am particularly sensitive to all the seasons particularly winter and autumn. your winter haiku i could relate to.

    adding to this
    winter chill
    next door death

  3. hoarfrost –
    the bitterness
    cross her face

    summerness —
    even without the rain
    the wetness
