After the speedily picnic,
skins of fruits floating idly
in the river bed
aurora
autumn night —
warmth from her hand, to my heart
so thin
the blade
cuts so deep
before the
October sunrise
tea with lemon
dirty dishes in the sink
her leaving …
fresh in my mind
–
autumn morning
the peeled clementine’s smell
in hot cocoa
thinking how to make
this birthday most special
again
solitary dog’s howls –
midnight, again
