Bosom is such a wonderfully old-fashioned and evocative word. Love it!
Even the gesture described in the haiku is very old-fashioned. I can remember seeing it very occasionally as a kid, but I probably haven’t seen it in 30 years. However, I probably saw it most often in repeats of old comedy TV shows like “The Lucy Show”.
LOL! Were you watching this 60+ year old lady at my last garage sale? Eerie. And such fun. Yes, the word “bosom” is one we should not forget. I for one will never forget my grandmother’s comforting bosom.
Hello new friend.
_Yours is such a bright reminder of my Grandmother… the ‘rummage’ sales, my young bordom, and her constant dipping into that suspended purse. Well done Marijo_!

Hi guys, I thank you all for nice comments, am very grateful. Yes, you’re right Patricia; I had a yard sale a couple of months ago, an older asian lady bought
something. She took out of her bosom a pouch then handed me the money. I was impressed, told her it’s smart thing to do with all the purse snatchers lurking around victimizing little old ladies, I think she’s smart.

What on a casual reading might seem unadorned observation is rich in human implications.

This is nice and clever: well done!
Very good haiku but very dejected poet(ress). Here is my reply:
Covering
in the depth of the yard
her heart itself
