a very interesting piece, amanda; it gave rise to my spying on the brownie fudge, on the platter, in front of me; finding myself in a feeding frenzy, i will continue at a later time.
Found this while browsing the archives; what a precious story about Lucy and her first horse! She sounds like a darling dog and very lucky to have found her ‘forever’ home.

“how quickly time passes”, with that being said, i’ll try to continue.
“Lucy barks, sleeping
Runs dreaming beside our horse
Surf sprays us all”
guessing; the only thing i can do, is jump right in.
a few moments, amanda, however, i like your perception.
a bit much is being said, in such a tiny space; possibly (not) fully explaining, to the degree you have, would enhance the piece.
the horse…
lucy, barks and runs
while sleeping
an elimination of the third line, “Surf sprays us all”, seems essential.
Thanks Amanda Burton.
dreaming the twilight
four sparrows two crows
a dozen butterflies ~
their laughters
as the waves crest on the shore
in the water they splash
she laughs
talking in her sleep …
birds sing, after midnight
