alone on the platform
swatting mosquitoes

a train’s whistle ~
hurried commuter
in the distance
squashed inside
the compartment sad
city dwellers~
the empty train~
the beggar fast asleep
on the dirty floor~
coffee with the moon
at Kollam junction ~
the sky gently clouds ~
blacken barren spruce
stood cross the sun starved morning sky –
warm-up begins
