A midwesterner through and through, I live in Glen Ellyn, Illinois with my husband, two sons, and three unruly dogs. A few of my haiku have been published in The Heron's Nest, Modern Haiku and the Illinois Times. An example of a non-haiku poem may be found online at FZQ (Free Zone Quarterly). fog drifts across the valley
silence-
early hours
From the foggy valley,
suddenly countless replies
at the cricket’s song
midnight
goes unannounced –
her silent room greets the morn
