private garden
sunrays break in
through locked gates
private garden
sunrays break in
through locked gates
Flock of blackbirds
flying aimlessly-
splinters of mirror
I should have known:
eyes that looked away
or down
up and down
up and down
the flock of dawn birds fly
trying and trying
a fly
on the window pane
jolted awake
a raven fills the seam
between two dreams
against grey skies
seagulls
seach for an escape
spider web spanning
rear view mirror–two bugs snared
escaping doom
doves cooing
louder and louder …
and louder than the other
I really like this haiku. I’ve always had a thing for blackbirds. :-)
very deep indeed… the blackbird is already in a garden but is trying to escape its own image in the mirror..
beautiful
I’ve returned twice. Very haunting, in a
Wonderlandish way, like Alice trying to find
her way out of an upside down world. Another
way. . .
blackbird
pecks at a gazing ball
no magic words
one’s worse enemy –
in the mirror
what’s looking back
