autumn
even the lake has turned
red
a few raindrops-
the cardinals
dig for breakfast
first frost
the green in the field
first hard frost—
the face of the pansy
shows its age
first frost
sugar coated leaves
faded sunshine
withered late bloomer —
fragrance of the rose lingers on
first frost –
steam-driven people
at the bus stop
hoarfrost
through his unkempt beard —
rivulet scar from a past winter
