wind and winter rain
the bus shelter
chatters

I've just published my first book, Ghost Maps: Poems for Carl Hruska, which won the CBC Canadian Literary Award and is currently short-listed for the League of Canadian Poets award for best book of poetry by a woman. I live, as you might guess, in Canada -- in Kitchener, Ontario. Haiku are an old passion for me. I keep a daily weblog at www.vividpieces.net, and can be reached by e-mail at erin (at) vividpieces.net View all posts by Erin Noteboom
dusk
the returning birds
chatter louder than us
late night rain
an unmoored canoe
chatters endlessly
gray snow slush,
stepping up the bus door —
our boots’ sound.
midday sun bath
dark corner beckons —
gus
–
dog days, a memory
raindrops invade my dreams

intriguing work, erin
chattering of teeth-
the bus is
late again
memories, and aging pains-
winter dawn brings hope
of one more spring
