The electric bulb,
in modish mimicry
of age-old alchemy,
transmogrifies
the streaks of silver rain
to raucous golden veins –
fool’s gold,
for when I cut the light
they pale to silver.
Or when the rising sun
outshines my foolish bulb.
winter dusk
a crow and tree’s silhouette
Sundown
in the lantana
fireflies on the rise.
sangre de cristo
cross the valley
crow on the fly
dusk sun
lights up
last supper wall mural
