Kala Ramesh is a performing vocalist in Indian Classical music. Coming from an extremely artistic and culturally rich South Indian family, Kala believes -- as her father is fond of saying -- that "the soil has to be fertile for the plant to bloom" and feels that she owes this poetic streak in her to her mother. I liked your haiku.
In indian classical music nature plays a great role, specially rains!
we have monsoon raagas, and our shastras say that if sung well it will bring rains!
thanks once again.
crash of pots
and pans… searching
for his voice
windshield wipers
a woman walks in the rain
at her own pace
construction site
hoots, hollers and whistles
ignore them all
past midnight
wail of the sax …
curtains remain undrawn
late dad’s mahjong joint
my heart drops
at the clatter of the game
well now this is a real nice piece of writing
kala. here’s a piece from the american south.
torrential rain
the notes of the bluesman’s
slide guitar
musician in kala is wonderfully revealed here. More haiku, kala!

long night
the guitarist strums
sound of music
faded pants with yellow stain-
old man’s walk
says there’s more
twilight garden
the old man straightens
his shadow
