a pair of cranes
walk against the wind

My name is Mary Chapman; I am married and the mother of three boys. I have always enjoyed reading poetry. My interest was sparked while in High School. We were challenged by an English teacher to write a love poem. It was not until recently that I became interested in haiku. I also write short stories and poetry. My favorite all time poet is Edgar Allen Poe.

A lost golden pen…
I wrote in ink this response
with it itself
folding cranes
dad tells son crane fly
only to peaceful nations
hurricane season
my mother sells her condo
moves back in with us
after the storm
a pair of cranes
back to work
thunder peal
pink Caladiums ripple
with the breeze
a breeze
upsets her
hair
predawn stroll
along the beach —
calm before the storm
very well done mary.
hurricane damage…
buzzing on a blown down stud
the hornet’s nest
Thank You all for your comments,
Mary

I hope the winds
