petrichor (PET-ri-kuhr) noun
The pleasant smell that accompanies the first rain after a dry spell.
Hi, mister Jeffrey Winke!
I read your Haiku so long from You, here In Albania and it is a pleasing one. I liked it very much. Below I am sending for you my Haiku:
the crazy rain
the gusty floods
are depressing the field. (Kujtim Agalliu)

Good haiku!
petrichor
akin to being next to God —
i’ve heard
pleasant smell of an infant —
unless, it’s soiled it’s bottom
petrichor –
i think back
when the first drops fell, what was i doing
a silence summer walk through a pine forest
signals, all is well
broken silence
snap of the pine bough
or the call of the bobwhite
perchance, it was kelley
who came to mind
petrichor –
jasmine blossoms
fragrance to soothe all mankind
sudden downpour…
