quiet morning
even the poplars are
silent

autumn evening
drone of a jet passing
into silence
river poplars
muted by the mist…
hatchet’s stroke
into a gray sky
a gathering of geese
one calling from behind
Only the poplars are silent in your words.
quiet cool evening–
even the crickets
are at rest
The bedroom’s window
lit on suddenly…
mother nursing
the old coblestone way
broken molar,
tweaked stones
quiet morning
rattling kettle
of the neighbour
thunderous applause
flight of hundred doves–
lone, cool morning jog
