I saw what the author wrote some years ago in Bavaria (near the mount Watzmann).
i like the contrast between the boulder & the seed. i also like the uplifting philosophical nature of this haiku; the implication being that no matter how inconsequential we feel, anything is possible.

The new struggles, while the ancient at first resists only to conced this time.
A high mountain mugo pine.
A restrained tokonoma display.
