A haunting image and jux, Helen
I’ll read this one in your honour at Poetry Can lunchtime can openers today!
I don’t know if you can get down but it’s at the Central Library, and starts at noon!
Your wasp haiku reminds me of mine as well:
an attic window sill
a wasp curls
into its own dust
stripped yellow
wasp, round the door
halloween garland
The fallen angel
Beats his wings together
til pinned by you.
spring day in autumn*
red hen scratching rustling leaves–
biddies wanderlust
