Between each fence slat
I can see your open eyes
awaiting autumn
lingering summer . . .
the laughter of neighbor kids
between each fence slat
usually a fan of less, i like the length of the lines in this languid summer haiku
well chosen, dylan, after the debates yesterday
gap-tooth grin
my daughter drags a stick
across the pickets
Appreciated your haiku, Marie; also enjoyed Josh’s response. Thanks to Dylan too!
autumn mist
drops fall from fir boughs
onto salal
goodbye summer–
kids wave
on their way to school
A good haiku, more than simply visual. An excellent example of how a 5/7/5 syllabic haiku can be well constructed too!
