Gorgeous depiction of the power of the ocean and a mirror to the tidal push-pull of human emotion. Love it.

As someone who has enjoyed eating seaweed (kelp) etc… in Wales and Japan, and mussels being a very British thing, and Belgian, I loved that last line! I'm surprised that nowadays the ocean didn't serve up a plastic plate or container of some sort too! :-)

    Beautifully crafted/composed tanka.

Tanka are not really as easy as they look when composed by someone like you. There's not a word out place, and each line break serves a purpose. If I want to, I can take another layer of meaning for myself, a gift from a strong writer who is also generous. Thank you!
