Wonderful and true. I think of the four generations I have seen here by Lake Michigan, who love the water. The day arrives when someone is not able to take a boat on the water, because of health or because of age, and also not wanting to worry loved ones. But "the sea" is still a part of their souls, and they enjoy memories and stories, and the beach.

I feel this poem is very powerful, clear and open for the reader to participate: everything a poem should be. It hit the mark. Excellent.

Such a beautiful, natural, deep moment. The expression mirrors the gesture.

Marvelous. Wonderfully portrays a life change. Maybe s/he regrets leaving that life, maybe not; the reader can put him/herself into the poem.
