summer dusk hands scented with tomato vine
—Ryland Shengzhi Li
Issue 22.2 | 21 September 2022
Excellent haiku, Ryland. I can smell the tomato vine.
I enjoyed the multisensory in you poem, Ryland. Very nice!
Sorry, I meant: "I enjoyed the multisensory aspects of your poem, Ryland. Very nice!"
Love the way the "s" and "d" sounds trail through the lines. Love the strength of "tomato" and the lingering softness of "vine."
One of my favorite summer smells! And tge green in the water when you wash your hands after picking. Wonderful moment you give to us!
Beautiful haiku, Ryland! I know the scent of that tomato vine, and find the poem very fresh and immediate.
i like the allusion to the work done, as well as the wonderfully sensory scene!
I think opening with dusk gives this haiku a sense of quiet satisfaction after a day working in the garden. So well evoked through the senses, Ryland.
