Author: Ljubomir Dragovic

Ljubomir Dragovic was born in 1956 in Sonkovic, near Sibenik in Dalmatia. Now he lives in Sibenik (Croatia), Banja Luka (Bosnia & Hertzegovina) and Belgrade (Yugoslavia). He has published five haiku books: "Dah zemlje" (The Breath of the Earth) 1986; "Ljetnji pljusak" (Summer Shower) 1986; "Pjesme iz starog kraja" (Poems From the Homeland) 1997; "U starom kraju" (In the Homeland) 2000; "Izabrane haiku pesme" (Selected Haiku Poems) 2000. He won the 1st Place on the 8th Yugoslav Haiku Festival Odzaci 1995, and 2nd Place on the 5th Mainichi Haiku Contest 2001 (Japan). His haiku have appeared in magazines in Yugoslavia, Japan, Croatia and U.S.A. He appears in the film of NHK tv "Haiku Beyond the Balkan War" directed by Kiyoshi Nanasawa in 2000.
