About M Ahern
Smitten by haiku in 2006 at a Yuki Teikei Haiku Society Reading in San Jose, CA, where she currently resides, Mimi Ahern has been hooked ever since. What attracted her was the unpretentiousness of a form able to convey human thought and feeling so profoundly with simple concrete description. She's been drawn to the brevity and enjoys seeing them published in journals and books. Her latest haiku pleasure: a letter from the mayor of Matsuyama, Japan, informing me of my prize-winning haiku in the foreign language section of the Matsuyama Haiku Post contest.
