About Sandip Chauhan

Sandip Chauhan, Ph.D., was born and raised in Punjab, India. Since 1986, she has lived and worked in Northern Virginia area of the US. Publications include three haiku anthologies: In One Breath – a Haiku moment/co-edited; Beyond the Fields — a trilingual haiku anthology (English, Punjabi, and Hindi); and a two-part haiku book in Punjabi language - The Sweet Song of Koel Bird from the Mango Tree, where haiku and its aesthetics are introduced in Punjabi for the first time. She is recipient of the International Matsuo Basho Award 2014 (2nd Prize) the IHA International Haiku Association, Golden Haiku Contest 2017 (First Place- Local) and IAFOR Vladimir Devidé Haiku Award 2016 – Runner Up. Her hiaga was featured in Episode 1 of NHK Haiku Masters television program in 2016. Her verses have appeared in Mainichi, Cattails, Failed Haiku, NeverEnding Story, Daily Haiga, Haiku News, Haiku Reality and others. She was the language editor of Ardea, a multilingual short-form poetry journal.
