debi,
of the many haiku i’ve read, and of
the many haiga i’ve viewed, your’s stand
head and shoulders above most. the haiku
are poems ( most aren’t in my opinion )
and your graphic work is both beautiful
and compelling.
abandoned kiosk
yesterday’s newspaper
covers the wino
commuters
hurrying home –
panhandler under the bridge
a new chinese child
whiff of red wine chicken
from the neighbour’s house
homeless man
with “will work for food” sign —
kitten brushes against his leg
–
In the courtyard
not the shadow of a ghost –
the untauched cat food
debi,
of the many haiku i’ve read, and of
the many haiga i’ve viewed, your’s stand
head and shoulders above most. the haiku

Thank you, daniel.
I’ve just recently “picked up the pen and brush” again after a quiet space. Your note is timely and encouraging.
“The farther you go, the less you know.”
(#47 Tao te ching, Lao Tsu; tr. by Gia-fu Feng & Jane English)
dawn
slips silently through the green pine needles
this nesting dove
I really miss your presence Debi.
This haiku is wonderful.
