allen, i got the picture.
today, i was sitting in my car, watching the formation of the first rain drops, from one of the many showers we have daily in south florida, followed by the brunt of the storm, pounding on my windshield.
well, i almost got the picture. i could imagine a television channel going blank or being blank, as the weather produced hail, with it being abundant enough to tap on the window, skylights in my case.
after that, i was wondering “and…”, “is there more”, or “was there more to be said”.
hey Allen,
afer writing several collaberations together, it’s
difficult to make a commentary. It’s just in L3,
I’d personally, would like to read more.
Best,
I love this poem! And if I wasn’t as dull as a domestic turkey I’d tell you just how really cool it is that you were able to make me feel all sorts of stuff that I don’t normally feel at the same time: sadness/contentment/loneliness/the pleasures of being alone/nostalgia for the delights and disapointments of childhood/the pleasures of being grown/the fear, respect and challenge of the power of nature/and perhaps best of all I think I finally understand what The Waitresses meant when they sang, “I want to find a cure for irony and make a fool out of God.” (that may not be an accurate quote, but it’s the best my memory can do)
simmering tea
hailstones break on the porch
Anyone want to renga?
cutlery clatters
earthquarke
country
hailstones falling
none survived, the fall …
in my dream
