lightning overhead
holding threads of brown leather
thundering hooves fly
rusted gate-
morning glories
twist in the wind
abandoned backyard bed
“do not pick the flowers” —
weeds flourish
gate man
fallen asleep
his mouth wide as the gate
April rain showers
playing with the flowers
spring is beginning
signs of spring
blocking out the sun —
his hand cross her face
hazy moon
the detective dusts the window
for prints
spring breeze…
at the end of the day
cocktails at the ritz
