waiting
for a new occupant-
last year’s nest
spring snow falls
swans
disappear
blossoms borne on the wind
cross the tilled field —
robins race from grub to grub
spring thaw
the class
warm with laughter
winter’s parting embrace –
seedling withers in the sun
