Doves outside the window keep me company in this mourning air. What a beautiful homophone, Ann. Liked your Haiku muchly. Dita Reply
Lovely poem, Ann. I live on the coast of Maine part of the year, where we have lots of cold mists and when we can get the seagulls and crows to quiet down, we hear the mourning doves but the competition is tough. Judith Ingram Reply

loneliness,
a cold misty morn
the morning dove’s coo
fog horns
somewhere out on lake superior
father
sun hit mist
vapour flies
like doves
Doves outside the window
keep me company
in this mourning air.
