morning sun …
a new shadow under
the sorrel mare

I live with my wife Shirlee on a cattle ranch near the little ski town of Red Lodge, Montana, and have been loving and writing haiku for several years now. I draw my inspiration from the images of the high-plains, mountains, weather, wildlife, livestock, ranch work and outdoor recreation which surround me daily.

I am a haiku poet from Albanian. The past year I have took a lot of haiku from tiny words.I like that process to spread haiku in the wide-world by your program. Do you go on with that initiative? Ok.
My best wishes,
Kujtim
Yea! I am so happy to see Tinywords back!

Mike, thank you for contributing such an excellent haiku to tinywords. I hope you don’t mind too much I’ve used it to reintroduce tinywords to the world. And thanks, everyone else, for all the great words of support!
Mike, your haiku gave me a lift this morning. Truly wonderful.
I’m so elated to have tw back again. It’s a gem of a site.

Here’s my improved, I hope, response to b. m. richardson’s mockingbird haiku. (I submitted too hastily the first time.)
not mockingbird
but pigeon coos on my sill

Oops, I forgot to congratulate
Mike Farley on a warm and wonderful
haiku!
georgia, i enjoyed your first and second haiku; even in haste, an accurate and vivid account emerged.

dawn…
cooing rains down
from her window sill
i imagine georgia’s smile
Thanks, B. M. Richardson! Have you a “calling” name?
birds a-calling
b.m. a-writing
georgia still a-smiling
“a”
a beginning, where does it originate
a calling, captures our attention
a life, being only a sigh
a passion, so compelling, this yearning
a fulfilling, yes, i promise, never to be broken
an ending, in conclusion, but not to be a final word…
—
georgia, a calling name i have, however to many i’ll answer
