  1. In a traditional sense, this doesn’t really seem like a haiku, given that the last two lines are the description of a personal, emotional response. It seems like it could be worked into a really good tanka though.

    unlike georgia though,
    i like this haiku for
    its directness. the
    poem lays everything
    right on the table,
    yet allows the reader
    plenty of space to
    bend & expand the poem
    to create a new poetic
    shape. think spandex,
    think spandex poetry!
    good job.

  3. while it’s true that the two lines describe an emotional response, the description is itself objective in that it doesn’t use any emotional words such as “sorrow” or “depressed”. I think it is avant-garde.
