  1. Great Deborah_!
Your camera hunt beats the dickens out of:

    an ancient plainsman
    draws back his fashioned bow
    a hollow wail
    _M

  2. Thank you, Deborah, for a lovely haiku. So many things are momentary . . . a photographer catches it quickly or it’s too late. A painter hopes that the memory will push her creative vision forward. A writer struggles for the correct words to express it.

  3. buffalo country
    storm clouds skitter above
    the empty prairie

your poem is actually very sad when one considers that the genocide of the buffalo was carried out in order to expedite the genocide of the sioux nation. thanks for this evocative reminder

    rain dance…
a tourist wipes a spot of sweat
    from his camera lens

  4. Another great poem, Deborah. It is always a joy to read your haiku. I publish a print journal, The Poet’s Art that publishes haiku, cinquains and other family-friendly poems if you are interested. E-mail me for the postal address if you are interested in submitting.
    Sincerely,
    David Fox
