  1. I disagree with your premise. The greatest challenge is excellence, as difficult to achieve in three lines as in one. But it’s a challenge you’ve met. Good work.

    Here’s a case where a haiku with three images works well for me. Three strong images, to be sure, but they compliment rather than overpower each other.

    I think I’d prefer this poem in 3 lines for the pivot:

    midday moon
    against the fence
    yellow grass

    Nice one, amigo!

  3. I, too, think this lovely haiku would be well served in three lines. Perhaps, that is being arbitrary. Much of life is.

    Full moon,
    a golden trellis up
    from the sea.
