  1. This seems to provoke varying responses. I was struck primarily by the eeriness of the image, authentically uncanny in my reading. Yet I can certainly relate, for instance, to terrytip’s laughter. This is a remarkable poem.

  2. It is a wonderful haiku.
I like to watch the moon rising during the night and your haiku gives a very nice image of it.

  3. I just love it. And terrytips comments made another fun picture. Thank you for a wonderfully provocative piece.

  4. In an artform so spare on words and where it seems that virtually everything has been thought of and tried a time or two, it’s so refreshing to read something so fresh and new. That’s what makes this poem so enjoyable to read and ponder. Wonderful!

  5. Dylan, since the daily haikus do not seem to be so daily anymore, I wonder if you are suffering from burn-out or if there is some other problem? There are so many of us who look forward to Tiny Words everyday and I’m wondering if there is someway we can help you. If you would post a request on this site, I’m sure that many of us would respond. Judith

  6. lady judith, it startles me, the things, endless, which give rise for my comment. there have been 22,777 comments, and counting, to tinywords.com.
times, i suffer from “reader’s burnout”. take heart, and savour the 1554 previously published haiku(s); many seem to have overlooked?

    i’m not dft(lol)

    morning
    marching cross the balcony
    why scratch your head–
    mourning dove

  7. RE: commentator #12, bmr, your dove could be bemoaning the loss of the birdbath; it’s been full of moon since way last Monday.

  8. ah reason, or lack thereof, simply amazing one’s response; albeit being lost on me. such heady thoughts, too early this dawn.
again, i reason to re-read my comment; however might it be, as i’m brought to reason, i’m not your annotator #12.
reason, does this stand to reason, or arte thou reasonless.

    silent dove–
    your coo still resounds
    this spring dawn

  9. It’s nice to meet you, Alexa,
and this haiku is absolutely delightful!
I shall carry the image with me…

  10. a reason

    “…full moon
    ghostly pear trees in bloom
cross abandoned field, pre-after season sales
into the night a cuckoo returns the call
    spring peepers; jeepers
    cool, snow melts
    in time for spring cleaning
2 tiny words, damn damn; DAMN
lightning so bright; brilliancies in one flash
stumbling ‘gainst wet mossy stone wall
all this green forgiving the rain
    spring lavender breeze–”
