—Heather Butler
Issue 14.1 | 2 June 2014
Your poem evokes a beautiful image. For some reason it makes me recall lilacs seen as a child, although there never was such a licac on our property.
the empty lot my neighbor labors and leaves irises

Alison Hedlund, Thanks so much! HB
Magical haiku, Heather. I love the ambiguity you evoke – are the lilacs escaping the neighbour's yard, or do they carry our own yearnings to flee?
