Dietmar Tauchner, born in 1972 in Austria, lives & works in Puchberg & Vienna, as a social-worker / counselor, author and lover. His work has been published in various magazines & anthologies worldwide. He received some awards, as the Taisho (Grand Prize) at the International Kusamakura Haiku Competition in Kumamoto, Japan, in 2013; and attended the First and the Second European Haiku Conference, The Haiku North America Conference in 2005, as well as the World Haiku Association Conference 2009 in Lithuania, where he held lectures and readings. end of the day –
with the remote control
I turn off the wife
a house-guest departs
two unwashed cups, two roses
droop in a small vase.
Somehow, I find this extremely positive. When I am 'home alone', it is then that I have time to indulge what is mot important — or have I missed the point of this haiku?

I found this highly amusing. The narrator is king of his castle and can therefore do exactly as he pleases without feeling the need to impress anyone. :)
