  1. Lovely, Chen-ou. I like the contract between darkness and light and love 'spangles of sunlight' – which suggests hope for the year to come – but I guess it could also refer to dizziness from a New Year's Eve party! :)

  2. Where I live it would have to be a late morning for a glimpse of sunlight on New Year's, but I still like the sentiment of the poem.

  3. A lovely image, really like the poem! This is so an everyday situation, though it gets a special meaning for the New Year morning being a first morning of the year and a nice time to start new things…
