Marilyn Gehant is a lover of Japanese arts, among them Sumi-e, ink painting. She studied Ikebana flower arranging under Ikka Nakashima and exhibited her arrangements at the Chicago Botanic Garden. Now a member of the Yuki Teikei Haiku Society in San Jose, California, her free verse and haiku appear in journals and anthologies.
