open water turns into
a ribbon of gold

  1. I've seen that and you describe it beautifully. The duckweed is usually so thick and unappealing ( at least to me) and then that ribbon of gold from the sun. Really love this Richard.

  2. Green and gold, such a rich colour combination. Duckweed quickly merges together, so here I imagine a water bird – duck, swan, moorhen perhaps, has just swum through leaving the sun to do its work. Appreciating your lovely observation, Richard.
