sadly your words stuck my heart strings…just yesterday I deleted some names from address book and phone…fortunately I added one.
On rereading, the opening line of this poem brought to mind the phrase “turn of the page” and the addition of concrete spaces between the letters of the word “dwindling” reflected names and addresses of those family and friends who have passed on. There are very few names left in my old address book, so this resonated.

First words of reality in an already troubling New Year, as our hearts look toward the Big Easy.
