We invite you to contribute/submit to the next issue of tinywords, 26.2.

Please send your best, preferably unpublished work. We’re looking for haiku, tanka and other tiny poems, brief tanka prose and brief haibun. From traditional to cutting edge. Quality is the common denominator. So touch us, startle us, make us see the world anew. We’re also interested in haiga and other art that combines very short poems with art. Be creative. That’s what we’re here for. Please provide a link where we can view images.

We’ll read previously published submissions (please provide details), but we prefer new work. Appearance on a personal blog or Twitter account, or in an online workshop, is no problem. We will respond within a few weeks (by the end of next month at the latest) so please, no simultaneous submissions.

Please submit no more than five pieces per submission period all within one submission.

Deadline: August 31, 2026. Submissions must be received by 6 p.m. Pacific time.

Copyright/permissions

Poets published on tinywords retain copyrights to their work. However, by submitting your work to tinywords, you are giving us nonexclusive rights to publish it on this site, to distribute it via electronic media, and to republish it in print or online collections.

Instructions

1. Log in first. If you have an author account here, please log in using the form below before submitting. ¹
2. If you want to submit multiple works, put all of them into a single submission. Separate the poems with *** or – – – or something besides spaces, so we can tell where one ends and the next one begins.
3. To submit haiga, photos, paintings, or other media, include URLs where we can access each image. Please provide files that are at least 1000 pixels wide.
4. Do not put your name or email anywhere in the box labeled “Your submission.” That’s just for your poems.
5. Please submit no more than 5 works per author. Submissions past this number will be ignored.

If you run into trouble, go ahead and submit your poems without logging in. Just make sure to give us your name and address in the submission form below — and double-check that your email address is correct.

You will receive an e-mail confirmation when your submission has been received. We’ll respond to submissions within a month or so.

Ask us at editors@tinywords.com if you need help. We don’t accept submissions by email, but we’ll do our best to help you if we can.
