anniversary
on his bedside table
a thin film of dust
—Patricia Benedict
Very poignant using effective juxtaposition. Love that last line in all its sadness. If you'd said "a fine film of dust" or "a layer of fine dust" etc… it wouldn't have had the same effect.
Very moving, and disturbing, as any good poem should be.
