my son learns
what it means to be infinite
first winter stars
another bill drops in the letter box longer days
someone’s name in chalk at the end of summer
scrolling through old friends’ accomplishments winter stars
late autumn boiling the color from frozen carrots
leaves turning the yesterdays yet to come
a breeze beyond rhetoric rippling meadowgrass
regardless of its name ditch lily
lilac blossoms
weighed down by steady rain
