I love the ambivalence in "winter"–aside from the timing of these end-of-the year accounts, on the one hand, stars seem brighter in the Northern hemisphere winter; on the other, one might feel a bit wintry about others' accomplishments.
I imagined a person looked through the Facebook pages of deceased friends. A sad monoku, particularly poignant for me since my online friend Rachel Sutcliffe passed away last week. Thank you for sharing it.
