My name is Mary Chapman; I am married and the mother of three boys. I have always enjoyed reading poetry. My interest was sparked while in High School. We were challenged by an English teacher to write a love poem. It was not until recently that I became interested in haiku. I also write short stories and poetry. My favorite all time poet is Edgar Allen Poe.

always a pleasure to see mary in my inbox
banana beach-
my heart flutters with
a distant sail
Dear Mary you are in a nice road. It is difficult but charmed. Haiku poetry is a concentration thinkings, short and beauty. It is a flash that in stead to blind us it open our eyes. Thank you for your satisfaction that gave me with your haiku.
My haiku is that:
the bitter death
took my friend
with black hair…
and
abandoned dog
that growles
is dispach its oneness…

The canary’s song
Echoes in the wind
As she sits in her nest
Protecting her young

sunrise
the garden buddha
emerges from the garden
high noon
the garden buddha
pocked with droppings
sunset
i scrub the buddha
with a wire brush
cheers from montreal!
dawn
i return
to sleep
The moon lays a golden trellis
on the dark skin of the bay
sakura’s imminent fall
we don’t know
what do we shall
– Just tried once…
Thank You,
For your inspiring comments.

orange beach
the sea runs
to me
driving rain, cross the lawn
tiny orange butterfly, rise and fall
